Croeso i Dosbarth Celyn / Welcome to Celyn Class
Welcome to Dosbarth Celyn! We are a mixed Nursery and Reception class where we learn through play and real-life experiences. Our days follow regular routines like snack time, assembly, singing, milk, and lots of indoor and outdoor play. We enjoy physical and creative learning activities, as well as numeracy and literacy skills. With the help of our lovely adults – Mrs Boulton, Miss Evans and Miss Wheeler – every day is full of learning and fun!
Spring Term 2026 – Let’s Investigate Trains, Planes and Automobiles invite learners to explore the world of transport and travel, past, present and future. Through this theme, pupils will delve into the science, technology, and innovation that power different modes of transport—from steam engines and propeller planes to electric cars and hyperloops. They will discover how transport systems have evolved over time, how they shape our lives and communities, and what the future might hold for transport in a changing world. By engaging with this topic, learners will encounter a rich variety of vehicles, inventions, and engineering breakthroughs that highlight human creativity, problem-solving, and resilience. They will explore the environmental impact of transport, consider sustainable alternatives, and reflect on how transport connects people, places, and opportunities across the globe. This learning fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a sense of wonder. Children will investigate the role of transport in their local area, compare systems across cultures and countries, and examine how transport influences access to education, healthcare, and work. They will also explore careers in transport and engineering, supporting the development of their understanding of the Curriculum for Wales’ Careers and Work-Related Experiences (CWRE) (Coed-Y-Lan transport careers fair) . Throughout the topic, learners will be encouraged to develop their creativity and innovation—generating ideas, designing solutions, and imagining new possibilities for how we move through the world. They will be supported to connect knowledge across disciplines, communicate their thinking, through inquiry, design, and collaboration. This topic aims to inspire learners to become informed, imaginative, and responsible citizens who understand the role of transport in shaping a fair, inclusive, and sustainable future for all.

Autumn Term 2025 – Let’s Celebrate The Threads That Connect Us!
Let’s Celebrate the Threads That Connect Us invites learners to discover how beliefs, values, and traditions shape lives across different cultures and communities. By engaging with major world religions and non-religious worldviews, pupils will encounter a rich variety of practices, celebrations, symbols, and beliefs that highlight both our diversity and the universal values of kindness, respect, fairness, and courage. This learning fosters empathy, curiosity, and a strong sense of belonging, while celebrating each learner’s unique identity, heritage, and cynefin. Children will explore the diversity within their school community, reflect on the role of traditions and values in shaping who we are, and recognise the common threads that connect us all. Through this, they will develop an understanding of how to live in and contribute to a fair and inclusive society, promote awareness of the ethnic and cultural diversity within Wales, and respect their rights and the rights of others. Ultimately, this theme aims to inspire learners to become caring, participative citizens of their local, national, and global communities.
